  1. Here is a question for all you Encore experts out there.

I am working on building a dvd menu for a particular movie and I was curious as to how you can animate buttons. Now what I am trying to do is use this image as my button while leaving its animation intact when importing into Encore. Of course when I import it, it becomes a still image with no animation.

Using Imageready I tried to export all 45 animation stills that make up the image. When I imported all of those into Encore they were all still images as expected but I couldn't specify a timing of lower than 1 second per image, this made the animation slow as you might guess.

Then I thought I could use after effects to open the image and export it as an avi to import into Encore, but I didn't know how to maintain the images' size and be within Encores spatial resolution limits (720x480) for videos.

I would really appreciate any help with this. I have been stumped on how to go about this; hopefully it is something really simple that I am missing.

  2. Encore does not support GIFs. The only way to do this is to create motion menu in AAE and apply the effect on the text. But that is whole another topic.

  3. Thanks for the reply! Not trying to be too helpless here, but I am fairly new to after effects as a whole so could you explain how I would go about the process? I would really like to learn how to do this. Thank you!

  4. After Effects is perhaps one of the more complicated programs you will ever use. I would reccomend that you take a look at the manual and especially look at the transform controls of AE.
