    When transfering DV video using the DV input on the Pioneer does the image become slightly brighter as on other DVD recorders?

    Are you referring to the IRE settings. There is a sticky at the top of this forum that deals with IRE. I also like Bob Hudson's description at http://www.signvideo.com/dv-black-levels-dvd-authoring-mpeg-2-part-1.htm

    The Pioneer recorders let you select the IRE setting (0 or 7.5) via the analog input. It is not adjustable via the Firewire input.
