Can anyone help here? I use a expressvu 6000 receiver and I have a DVR533-h recorder. Is there a way of watching an HD feed on my TV while recording that feed via s video to the HDD recorder? My STB has no s video out when it is switched to HD so to view the program in HD on my TV means I have no s video for the DVD recorder. May be there is a box out there that will pass through the component feeds but gives you a composite and s video out that you can send to other devices ?

That is a major limitation. I'm not aware of a box that will do that.

Fortunately, the typical cable HD boxes feed Y,Pb,Pr, DVI/HDMI and downscaled S-Video (letterboxed) in parallel. Or at least the downscaled S-Video is always there. That is what I typically record.
