I'm not blind to the fact that racism exists, but it really does tick me off when people try to make a racial issue out of things. Theres a degree of paranoia in some people that cause them to seek out how they are being "wronged" in every aspect of life. Not just racial issues, but mcdonalds making me fat, my parents making me murder all my classmates because they didn't get me a nintendo when i was 8....i'm going way off here..forgiveness please.

From what I can pry out of the administration, everything pretty much got settled in the office that day.

Basically the sub apologized for the way the student took it, and consiquently the parents having to be called in. He said that he was just trying to keep the 2 boys seperated and meant nothing by the comment, and apparently the parents have let it go but requested that the their son be allowed to go to the office during any class when that particular substitute is going to be his teacher.

I don't know either of the 2 boys who were involved, I wonder if I have them in class...probably not...I'm sure if one of them is that thin skinned I would have been in there already.

P.S. And if you're looking for this breakfast food in a restaurant, you won't find it served in any of the Sambo's Restaurant eateries ... except perhaps for one. The restaurant chain was citicized for implied racist inferences to the short story, "Little Black Sambo," and now only one Sambo's remains ... in Santa Barbara, California.

Of course, the chain had nothing to do with African-Americans at all. Their logo was a young Indian boy with a tiger (no tigers in Africa, either). Here's an old matchbook cover:
