  1. Please help if possible i have an Xbox 360 witch i want to plug into my LAN card of my PC via crossover cable.
I have setup a connection and set my internet connection to shared but when i test xbox live on my 360 it fails at IP confirm. This happens if i use automatically choose IP and DNS settings on PC and 360.
But if i manually set the IP adress on the 360 and PC i get passed the IP confirm test and it keeps failing at DNS check.
I don't know what i need to enter on the PC and 360 as DNS server address please help i have spent hours trying to sort the connection out.
I am using a 1mb cable broadband connection on a PC woth P4, 512 MB RAM, 128 MB GeForce FX 5200

Uhm... why not buy a router? Or at least a cheapo hub? Both of this get rid of the need for a crossover cable and frankly I've had issues with crossover in the past.

With a hub you should be able to turn on Internet Connection sharing on the XP box, put the settings into the Xbox and have it work like that.

With a router you should be able to set it up and plug all your stuff in.

why not just unplug the ethernet cable from your PC and plug it into the XBOX?
are you gonna be surfing the internet on your PC at the same time that your trying to play games on your 360??
