i'm thinking divx.
the whole thing was captured from tv broadcasts.
my vid is 640x480 and made in premiere. i used a frameserver to get it to virtualdub and encoded it there.
used divx6, 2 passes, at 1600kbit/s.
GMC - checked
"Extreme quality"
noise reduction : off
psychovisual : off
interlace : progressive source
quantization : h.263 optimized
video is 9:32, 115mb, mp3 56kBit/s.
can anything else top this?
would doing more passes make it smaller? (noticably)

More passes are unlikely to make much change in the size. You get diminishing returns for improving the quality after about 2. But if it's short, you can try a couple of more. If you want it smaller, reduce the bitrate.

i'm trying to get full screen viewing at 1024x768 resolution.
how much lower could i go and make it still watchable?
