if thats the case for me, then this is my first as well.
Well, the one i had that problem with a few years ago was not a mainstream famous & widely released pressed dvd, you can actually see like a blob or pattern on the silver side and when it was "silkscreened" ? on the artwork side, you can look at the silver side and see one of the logos and looks as if they did it with heat and when pressed it actually melted the shape of the logo into the plastic, so that was an extreme case...

But as i stated it was an extreme case and since i have went to toshiba dvd-ram/rom drives a couple of years ago i can even rip that disc and make BU's that work perfectly.
Some drives just seem to be able to read disc's way better than others, and burners.

I'm gonna have to scan it once and see if i can get it to scan the oddities on the silver side once, never tried before so.
