Just wondering if they're Region free or not I got a few Region 4 DVDs I bought in Australia and am wondering if I can play them on my US DVD player if I buy one, all the ones I have wrote down the numbers and there isnt a hack for any of them just wondering?

you'll have to check before you buy the player to see if it is region free.. if not, you could still back up the dvd's to dvd-r (thereby removing the region protection).. the only thing you'll have to do is make sure the player is multisystem as australia uses the PAL video standard and the united states uses NTSC.

1) DVD Recorder/VHS Combos are usually junk.
2) Simply region hacking a DVD Player probably won't help all that much since the DVD's are in PAL format....Region Coding and PAL/NTSC are two totally different hurdles to cross.
