Thanks for writting and thanks for the link.
Thanks for the information. Might be a dishnetwork guide problem as for example: Youset a timer for football on sunday you will either get part of the show before or loose part of the game. same thing happens at the endof the timer.
    - I guess this is not Globo's fault. Blame it on the matches. Sometimes they have problems and the games start erlier or later than the previously scheduled time - that's why you're only getting part of it.
Maybe you know how to read a bit of Brazilian Softened Portuguese, for instance, that link shows the schedule for next Sunday (tomorrow) and it is totally different from the one we've got here. One example is "Sob Nova Direção" (Under New Direction); it is a sitcom like te ones you have in the USA, but it is aired here about 10:30 pm and not at 12:30 pm as it is shown on the website.
All Fridays they air interesting documentaries called Globo Reporter. Yesterday night there was a very interesting story on the conservation of the remains of the Atlantic Forest in Northeastern Brazil, showing animals still not officially recognized by the internatinal cientific community such as the smallest ant eater in the World (it may fit in your palm). That would be interesting to capture those documentaries in spite of the fact I guess you are much more interested in soccer...lol
    Cheers!
here's the link to Globo Reporter:

This new format will be a public television, that means free of any kind of charge. It's going to be an international system called International Brazilian HDTV System covering all the 8,511,965 square kilometers that make up the Brazilian Territory. There was some testing going on last April and the transmissions will start next year with the World Cup in Germany. The HDTV system will begin its commercial transmissions on 7th of September, the Brazilian Independence Day, 2006.
It will be interesting to see how this new system develops. Maybe it will be from satellite to cover that much area.

All the world is moving to 1920x1080 HDTV size. The display would need to handle frame rates of 59.94, 50, 29.97, 25, 24, 23.976. All this can be done in the TV or in a tuner box.

It will be interesting to see what they propose.
