  1. It's a R2/PAL expensive title that doesn't appear to ever be scheduled for release in the US. Having paid 59.00 for a single movie, I definitely want to back the thing up, I've never had any trouble backing up R2 movies before. This one just won't read, and for some reason, it asked me if I wanted to change the region code on my Pioneer 107, which a PAL R2 has never done either, unless I try to play them on my Mac.

  2. Weeeeiiiird. I made sure the disc was playable in my all region player, plays fine, made sure it was clean, yes, no dirt or dust, tried again, same error?
    But wait!
I changed the settings for my new region code to be all of them, it didn't work, I changed it back to R1, it works perfectly, but a bit on the slow side???
Just for kicks, I tried it on my backup system, same thing, if I pick all regions, then go back to R1 for my choice, it works fine....
STILL the best damn solution in the business!!!
Cannot wait until the new year when my budget allows for some new toys as far as a machine, and a state of the art burner!!!

Did MTR show the source disk to have RCE? If so, you should have set an additional RCE region (to RCE2), according to the manual. Anyway, that's my guess.

Another option would be to set copies to region 1,2,3,4,5,6 only. Some players perhaps have trouble with true all region (1-8) discs.
