Other than eliminating macrovision, will this product help with a bit of video restoration and make the final product look a bit better?

I've had one of those for about ten years. It's on some shelf somewhere. It did work fine blocking Macrovision on commercial VHS videos, but that's all it does. I don't use it now because I don't have any commercial VHS videos anymore.

This device was designed to block macro vision only, but I have scene it take out a little / some "jitter" (DUE to macrovision) - However, it does nothing for the picture quality or signal correction...

The only reason this device was purchased was to allow capture to the ATI MMC before their was a software patch.

    No.

Smurf a question for you then...

Would you go with a Panasonic DVD Recorder with this Macrovision removing device? Or the Lite-On 5005 with the macrovision removing hacks?

Im looking for maximum quality there not just to save a few bucks.

Im also thinking of getting a TBC on top of this.

Im looking to get old VHS tapes to DVD and want to do it 100%, not just half assed.

What model of TBC would you recommend?

You don't need the Digital Video Stabilizer if you are using a TBC.
