  1. Using Nervision express Two (latest upgrade of Nero 6) I am trying to burn onto a Double Layer DVD disk a project that is about 6 GB. Nero warns me that the project is too big for a normal disk but says I can continue if I have a dvd-9 disc. I assume that translates to a double layer disk (maximum capacity of 8gb), which I have loaded in my Sony DRU-700A DVD drive. All goes well until i start the burn process. At this point Nero generates an error message:

"Unable to prepare data for recording: Prepare Session failed: Transcoding of videos failed."

I have never had this error before. If I go to a smaller project, all is well with the burn. What could the problem be??

Does it recognize your disc as DL? It sounds like Nero is trying to reencode the file. That's usually a problem. It may be trying to convert it to a DVD-5 disk if it doesn't think a DVD-9 is in the drive.

  3. Yes, under disc info it lists the disk as "DVD+R DL" with 8,152 MB Available capacity. Any ideas on the fix??

Do you have the latest patches installed for Nero?
