  1. Hi, hope someone can help - not sure which section this should be in probably authoring, but well - here goes:

I have been successfully using womble editor to cut commercials from films recorded on my standalone dvd recorder for some time. I use DVD decrypter to rip, womble to edit. Then I demux using either womble of tmpeg. Then use DVDauthor to author.

Recently I have bought a USB DVB capture device and it works fine - quality is excellent, and it allows me to save in mpg format. The problem arises when I try to edit the captured mpg file - the edited film has an audio sync problem which gets worse as the video progresses. The original capture is fine - it's just the edited version that has the problem.

I would be obliged for any ideas anyone might have.

    Thanks....

do you also edit the captured mpg with mpegvcr?

I would first try "repair"/demux the dvb captured video with projectx or pvastrumento and then edit with mpegvcr or try videoredo.

And this should not be in authoring...more digitaltv or editing...but the general forums works fine too.

  3. Thanks for the quick reply!

Sorry, I should have said I edit with mpegvcr, not womble.
I have tried demuxing/remuxing with tmpeg with little effect. I will try the programs you suggest and let you know what happens

Thanks again for all your help.

    Much appreciated

  4. Projectx did the trick! An excellent demuxer and handy for basic editing too!

    Thanks again!
