I tried to burn an svcd with nero .. went thru usual steps but nero shows it as being over 100megs (indicator at bottom) and as being 59 minutes therefore it won't burn it cuz the file size too big but the amount of minutes is correct. The actual size of the mpeg is only 800megs. Any ideas why or how to fix this so I can burn it? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

    Are you using:

    650MB/74 Minute CD's or 700MB/80 Minutes CD's?

I burned a 800MB SVCD onto a 700MB/80Min today before I came to work. But I doubt it would have worked on a 74Min/650MB cd.

First of all, a correction on my initial post: I meant to say nero reads it as being over 100 minutes and NOT 100MB at the bottom where the minute bar is located. In the track/title/duration/etc. window, it says that it's 59 minutes long.

Anyway, I have burned (literally) hundreds of vcds and svcds. I've always used 80min/700MB cds and have never had a problem until now. My burner is the 16/10/40 PlexWriter (plextor). Since I use the latest nero, I have even set my nero options to overburn. If you're familiar with nero, you'll know that you usually drag and drop the mpg and it goes through the "adding file" check. When it's done adding the file, the bar shows as over 100 minutes when it's only really 59 minutes. That is my problem! It won't burn because it's showing it as too long when it really isn't.

Ok, well that does make it a diffeent case...

I'd try re-encoding it. Just go back to square one, and try again. If its the same case again, I dunno what to say. Hopefully, you just made a minor error somewhere in the process...

I didn't want to have to resort to re-encoding it. I'm still hoping someone will post a new idea/solution.

Thanks for your input though .. much appreciated for even responding
