Is there a way to convert ASS subtitle files into SSA format? The subtitle convertor I use does not support ASS.

I generally use Subtitle workshop for conversion, it has excellent compadability with many different formats.

Hey, I used that one a very long time ago. Never knew it supported ASS files.
I have a question though. Whenever I open a subtitle file, the FPS on the left is always at 25 when my videos are not at 25 FPS. Am I supposed to be changing it? -
25 fps is simply the default setting that subtitle workshop starts set at, I have generally found that regardless of the fps of the video you should simply leave the fps in and fps out the same rate, then test it to see if the timing is right, then adjust if it isn't.
For example I have been converting video from 23.xx to 29.xx but leaving the subtitle workshop settings at 25 fps in, and 25 fps out, and the timing has been coming out perfectly, but I might be using a time based subtitle format rather than frame based, I'm not really sure.
Subtitle workshop is fast so you should know if there is a problem right away, another thing to check would be the final event time on the subtitle scroll down to see what it says and if that corresponds with aproximately when you should be seeing the last subtitle.
Oh, and as an aside there is a forum section for working with subtitles and this isn't it.
