How can I tell what type DVD I have in my DVD ROM. I need to find out if it is a DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW etc. and what is the capacity.

Is there a way in Windows XP or I have to use some special tool for that.

Thanks in advance for your help..

    Subhash.

Why do you need to identify your disc as a +R or -R or +/-RW ?
Most modern burners will copy an unencrypted disc from +R to -R
or -R to +R without any problems.

Do you have a TV connected DVD "player" disc compatibility problem?

My daughter lives out of town who I regularly send movie dvd's purchased locally. I think her DVD player does not play DVD +R. So, before I send her, I want to make sure that the DVD's will be compatible with her player.

    I will try dvdinfopro.

Commercial DVD's are neither + nor - as that only applies to recordable DVD's.
