DVDSP, whether version 3 or 4, does.
as for your .avi with ac3, as long as the .avi has been
encoded with a codec you have that Quicktime likes,
DVDSP should be able to handle the import in directly.
If DVDSP refuse to import the video, chances are it
doesn't like the codec.
You could bounce the .avi through DIVX Doctor II
which would cause it to "dump" the .AC3 track, but "re-assign"
the .avi's codec to 3ivx. this would produce
an .avi with no sound, but you have the .ac3 track still
be available seperate.
DVDSP likes 3ivx, I use it all the time.
You could then import the .avi into DVDSP, import the
"dumped" .Ac3 into DVDSP, and with DVDSP set to do
Background encoding, should be able to create your
episode DVD in no time."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

Yes, and Yes.
Repeat the steps for each .avi.
With Background encoding set in DVDSP's preferences,
each .avi will encode in the background after importing.
the .AC3 tracks are already compatible upon import."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

I tried to use Doctor II but I got this log:
Doctoring AVI
FILE = /Volumes/Varios/LOST2HR/lost.s02e08.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-tvd.avi
AVI contains an AC3 track!
FILE = /Volumes/Varios/LOST2HR/lost.s02e08.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-tvd.avi
ERROR: Could not open audio track
FILE = /private/var/tmp/folders.501/TemporaryItems/auds.tmp
ERR = -2048, noMovieFound
ERROR: Building Repaired AVI
FILE = /Volumes/Varios/LOST2HR/lost.s02e08.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-tvd.avi

ERROR: Error while Doctoring
FILE = /Volumes/Varios/LOST2HR/lost.s02e08.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-tvd.avi
ERR = -2048, noMovieFound
I do not know why is that, i have selected differnt folders to save the doctored file and always got the same error, evevn with different files.
I just get an audio.ac3 file.
What I am doing wrong? any clues?
Thanks for your help,

Toast can create DVDs with AC3.
Toast can convert AVI to DVD... but if the AVI (which is usually DivX in disguise) has an AC3 soundtrack instead of more standard MP3 you will need the free QuickTime component which decodes AC3... the gotcha is that QT 7.0.2 broke this and other Variable Bit Rate decoders... so if you are running QT 7.0.1 you are safe... but anything higher, you're going to have to wait for an Apple fix.
And yes, I'd be remis not to point out that MacMall is selling Toast 7 for $39 after rebates through December 9. -

DD2 is dumping the AC3 track into a seperate file,

try this suggestion by digisam, five posts down
here."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
