Media help 4 my Btc burner

Hi all I have recently purchused a btc drw1116im burner then I bought a 10 pack of 16x tdk discs almost all of which have long pauses thoughout the movies and the burner wont let me burn any slower than 16x any suggestions what are some of the most reliable discs to use? its a pain as my last burner a old slow 4x benq never had any dud discs no matter what I throw at it

Check into firmware for the burner....it sounds like it is not reading the burn speed correctly from the blank DVDs....IF you want to continue using those discs.....OR try slower rated discs.
