Can anyone tell me what the best program to capture VHS into my PC straight to an mpeg2 dvd compliant file with the best picture quality or least quality loss. I am capturing using a Canopus ADVC300. I have WinDVD version 2.0 which is used to capture into this format and the picture quality was kinda poor. I did a search on the forum, buy was unable to find a program.
Thanks,
Lonn

You can use Mainconcept encoder for DV to MPEG-2 directly. It needs quite a bit of computing power and you will likely have to use the buffer option. Quality? You can only do so much with that quick of an encode, but give it a try.
