  1. I'm in the process of restoring some DLTs with DVDAfterEdit to get a VIDEO_TS file.

My question comes when I'm using Toast 7 to burn a DL disc-

Is it best to write a UDF data disc with the VIDEO_TS Folder OR make a Image file and burn with that?

Does toast recognize the layer break or does it insert it own?

    thanks in advanced

You might need to ask the experts on the Roxio Toast 7 forum about how the layer break gets handled. My sense is that Toast will respect the layer break in an image file but will set its own when using VIDEO_TS. However, there also may be a difference depending on whether you put the VIDEO_TS in the Toast Data window or in the Toast Video window. I've read that there are differences in Toast 7 between using one or the other, whereas there was no difference in Toast 6. I just don't know what those differences are.

If you post this on the Toast 7 forum you'll likely get a reply from freshburn who is the guru about DL burning with Toast.

Someone tell me if this makes sense.
I created a dual layer project in DVDSP, set the layer break point, did a build in DVDSP and burned it onto a dual layer disc in toast 7. Then I checked in dvd2oneX cells>Layer to see where the layer break point was. It was exactly where I set it. Does that mean that the layer break point info is written into the ifo file? And if so when you rip a dual layer DVD with MTR and drop the folder straight into toast, burn it on a dual layer disc that it will have the same break point as the original disc?
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a good camera is worth about a thousand bucks.

my experience has been that they break from original to copy is the same - using same method as you, using dvd2onex to show me the layer break point.
