Before you state that it's not the media, make sure that you run a CDSPEED disk quality scan and see. All brands of media, including Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim can and will have bad media from time to time, although it is very rare for the high quality stuff.

Run a quality scan on your media, and please post what brand and media id you are using. If the media test is good, it could be changes to your setup, such as codec's, software upgrades, windows upgrades, firmware upgrades.

  3. I think the problem is the 29.97fps->25fps conversion,I would try another encoder.

EDIT: i dont think its the encoder cus the file plays fine on my pc both in mpf format and as VOB files from the VIDEO_TS folder. and the dvd check out fine.

As a user of video studio 9 , and having done many conversions without problems , it may simply come down to your home player having an issue .

Use a good head cleaning kit , and see how it gose .

Cheap home units use cheap len's , and these wear out at around 2-3 years , depending on how often they are used .

You could also try the disc's in a friends unit and see how they perform .
If they work well there , then you know where the problem lies .
