Alright so I have a file that has a sligh corruption in the middle what happens is when the WMP gets to that play it will skip for a second or 2 and continue playing. I want to convert it to vcd from its original rmvb state ( don't flame me ) so I loaded the rmvb up in goldwave but it only extracts up to the point b4 the corruption. I used to have a similar file like this, it'll skip for a second or so and continue playing in WMP, I was able to successfully extract the whole audio for that file no problem. Re-getting the file won't help. Is there a way to extract it guys ?

If you could get it into a video editor (Not sure about RMVB editing) you could cut out the part with the skip, video and audio. Then save that and try to extract the audio. Not the best solution, though.

No, I'm saying that when you playback in WMP, it sends audio out through Windows Sound Mixer. You often can have an option in Windows Sound Mixer that has, in addition to "WAVE" and "MIDI" and "LINE IN" mixer channels, has "SOUNDCARD OUTPUT" as one of it's RECORD sources. It's not a function of WMP, it's a function of your Windows Sound Mixer Control Panel. You may even automatically be able to (internally) do this with Total Recorder alone (it's been a while, so I'm not sure).
Of course, you can always resort to patching the sound card outputs back into the sound card inputs. This adds additional generations of A/D and D/A, but is a simple, low-tech version of the same thing.
Try a search in the forums for Total Recorder...
