  1. I've been downloading shows and burning them to DVD for months with no prob, but i've just got some old ER eps and for two days have been trying to burn them to DVD. I always use Nero Express 6 to do this.
The program gets half way through, it transcodes them OK but when it comes to actually burning the DVD it generates an error and stops.

I've tried using different media but it isn't the problem, I can play the file using windows media player but it has a .ws on the end of it. Could this have something to do with it? I've never seen this file extension before. Here is the whole file name er.s07e02.sand.and.water.ws
    Any help is apprecaited. Thanks.

.ws probably stands for wide-screen I guess.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. hmm, upon further investigation, i've found that it is in fact an avi file. All the other files are the same, I don't understand why it won't burn!!!!

Sounds like you've got the "hide extensions for known filetypes" checkbox ticked.

See https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1322237#1322237 for info on this.
    If in doubt, Google it.
