  1. I've looked around the forums and couldn't find my answer. In dvd shrink I have 7 different audio tracks on my dvd, if I know I obviously want to remove certain ones like french and spanish, but I have 4 tracks that say english.

    ac3 5.1-ch english
ac3 5.1-ch english (same file size as other)
    ac3 2-ch english
ac3 2-ch english (same file size as other)

I know a coulple are director commentary but how do I know which one?
and if I only leave a 5.1 channel track, if someone wants to watch it just hooked up with analog right/left inputs will they get no sound?

DVD players will decode 5.1 to stereo, so that's the only one you really need. As far as telling the directors cut from the regular audio, you would have to listen to be sure. Generally though, the first AC3 is the one to use.

I always kept one 5.1 AC3 track only, long before I got my sorround sound system. "All" DVD players will downmix it to stereo.

Under 'Edit', go to 'Preferences', then 'Preview' and you can adjust the audio preview mode.

You can also right click on the preview window and select the audio you want to listen to.
