its been a few months since i have ripped a dvd and burned it.
my set up:
dvdshrink i think its version 3.2
and the nero software that cvame with my liteon internal burner.
problem one: i inserted a dvd and dvd shrink analyzed it and began the backup. it took the normal 45 minutes or so to do its thing. a window pops up that says the backup was complete. i should see a winodw that says insert a blank dvd and then burning happens......
-un installed dvd shrink
-downloaded a new version and installed
-still same thing
-uninstalled nero
-downloaded version 7
-found out that nero 7 and dvd shrink dont work well
-installed nero oem suite that came with dvd burner
-still no joy.
at this point it should be back to the setup i had months ago that worked! no joy!
so i was able to get the dvd uploaded to pc and stored on c drive. i figured i would try to use nero to burn from c drive. it loads, shows about 4464 MB and i click finished and go to the next screen where it has burn settings but my burn icon is not highlighted.
cannot burn with dvd shrink and nero combo.
any suugestions?

At the moment, the name of your backup dvd will have a lot to do with what is going on out there in DVD land.
Look for other posts on "Madagascar" etc and see what has been going on. -
See the Madagascar post I go to the end were I reply you will see how too do it.

And FWIW I'd avoid Nero 7 like the plague ...... at least until they're up to version 7.3 or thereabouts. For now, you might do a google for "Nero clean tools" to get rid of 7 properly, and then reinstall the version that came with your burner. If in doubt, Google it. -
Is it possible that you selected "Hard Disk Folders" as your output target instead of your burner ?
yes my dvd reader is also the writer.....
soi rip to c drive and copy from c to E when rip is completed

However, if you select your burner as the target device, DVDShrink will do it's thing, and then fire up Nero, and co-ordinate the burning process for you. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't give you the "backup complete" message until the burning process is finished. If in doubt, Google it. -
DVD Shrink will give you a message that the backup is complete even without burning a disc. If you write the output from shrink to hard disk location the backup complete message appears.
