  1. When backing up DVDs, I have always used TitleSet Blanker to get rid of unwanted extras. If the remaining features wouldn't fit on a DVD+R I would then use DVDShrink or Nero Recode.

Now when I use TitleSet Blanker, DVDShrink and Nero Recode won't even analize the remaining files.

I get the following error messages.

"DVDShrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
    Failed to open file "VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO.""

"Nero Recode 2 encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to open the file VIDEO_TS.IFO.
The data area passed to a system call is too small."

I have not changed any settings in any of the programs I use.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and, if so, how was it resolved.

    Thanks

Well, I have a circuitous solution. Take your assets and burn an image with nero, or your favorite burning program. Mount your image with daemon tools or equivalent. Have dvdshrink or nero recode chew on that. I DON'T KNOW WHY this works, but it hasn't failed to work yet.

Try FixVTS -it's quick and fairly simple. I've had good luck with it.
Did the other trick work for you?

It seems like you blanked out VIDEO_TS.IFO too, that probably contains some information required by the DVD players. Restore VIDEO_TS.IFO only (not the other extras) and then try again.
