    I normally back up my discs using dvddecrypter followed by dvdshrink but have noticed recently on playback that on a couple of movies it jumps back to the beginning of a chapter you have just watched.

    Is this a problem with the backup process or a disc problem?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Same thing has happened to me with an episode DVD and I use the same method.
    When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!!
