I used a very basic video capture to transfer vhs to a .mpg file through pinnacle systems PCTV.
The vhs was quite old, and I have some noise at the top and bottom of the video, and some poor quiality video.
I wanted to use tmpgenc plus to clip the frame and do some noise reduction. I import the video, set the clip frame marks and the noise reduction using the dvd template.
When the video is processed the output looks horrible. There are double images. For instance, if you look at a lamp post in the background it looks like double vision, flickering.
I have tried changing between interlace and non, and it doesnt seem to help.
Any ideas?

Sounds like either the field order has been reversed (tnpgenc is notoriously bad at correctly detecting field order), or you have been caught out trying to resize interlaced footage.
I would start by reversing the current field order, and see how you go.Read my blog here.
