Is there a setting so that when I author a DVD, there is no menu?

I did a lot of searching and there does not seem to anything available that addresses this matter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  2. I've looked hoping to find that option as well, with no luck.

Instead, I use GUI for DVDAuthor when I'm doing an 'episodes' DVD and just use DVDAuthorGUI when I'm simply putting a single movie with no menus onto a disc.

They're both free and they're both effective at what they do. Why not have the two of them?

Not the actual answer to your question but hopefully a useful suggestion.

    Have Fun,

No, but as many people ask for this feature, I will include it in one of the next versions...
ATM you can just use a workaround:
    1. Use a black background picture
    2. Set the start action to 'Start movie' and the end action to 'Next movie' within the general project settings
    3. Set the pause for the main menu to 0 sec
    4. Set the transparency for 'Highlight' and 'Activated' to 99%
    5. Use a post command for the main menu to start automatically
    look here: https://www.videohelp.com/~gfd/GUI_DVDauthor_eng_07.htm#Post_actions_for_menus

Drop your films as usual (use textbuttons, no gifmask) and unmark 'Normal visible' for the textbuttons.

=> The menu is 'invisible' and shown for 0 seconds
