Anyone know why this is happening? I used both WinAVI and DVDSanta, the avi file plays smooth. When I convert it to dvd files the quality and resolution are fine but the video seems to have fps lag spikes. It pauses for about half a second continously.

I recently tried out DivxtoDVD and it doesn't do it using that program. Can someone help me why it's doing this on WinAVI and DVDSanta, I'd like to use those programs instead because they are much faster for me.

are you changing the framerate? pal to ntsc or ntsc to pal. most tools are very bad at doing it good...especially all-in-one tools.

dont think I am, I left the settings at default. Tried setting the target format on WinAVI to auto and ntsc but still get the same results. On DVDSanta I set it to ntsc because the only other option is pal and the avi looks like ntsc format.

ok I found the problem, I was told on another forum that it was the new version of WinAVI i was using (7.1). I downgraded to version 6.3 and I don't get that frame jitter anymore. Thanks for helping anyways.
