I had one installed at one time and since reformatting my computer(grrrr), I can't remember the name. I had a program that would tell you who manufactured whatever disc was in the drive, etc.

Can anyone advise me on the name? Will Nero do it?

    Thanks a bunch!!

Hmm, I actually ran CDR ID just fine last night (WinXP SP2). Dunno.

I see you have a Plextor drive - maybe grab the Plextor tools (PlexTools) - either from the web site or the disc that came with your drive? I've used it to do a speed test, but can't recall if it has the ID capability (but it probably does, I just haven't looked for it).

Nero Info Tool and CD-DVD Speed will tell you the manufacturer and type of CD-R inserted.

You can DL cd-dvd speed at www.cdspeed2000.com

As mentioned above, DVDIdentifier (what I use) and dvdinfopro can be used to identify DVDs.
