Can it be done? ffmpegx is not working for me. Is there a way to import the DVD video straight from the DVD to Final Cut or someting similar to that like putting the DVD video straight to miniDV where I could obviosly then import to Final Cut.

Normal steps: Extract the VOB, demux to MPeg2 and audio, decode audio (if AC-3) then import the elements needed.

I prefer MPEG Streamclip but you can also use DVDxDV, Drop DV, Cinematize, Toast, Capty MPEG Edit EX etc. I have had good success with ffmpegX, too. All those apps work only with unencrypted material.
