divx 6 with ac3... audio won't play correctly...

hey guys its been a while......

i've been fiddleing with that new divx (6)...

yeah well i've used dvd2avi to make a video & seperate ac3 file..
when i mux em up with vdubmod... the resulting file plays ok in wmp... but when i play in the divx player it players the sound wrong (high pitch screatching).....

i jus wana know if its ok & will play in existing divx player (that supp v6)..

Burn it to a -RW and try... If it can be of any assistance, I've done DivX6+AC3 AVI that played no problem on my DivX player.

but since you got it working i guess its a bug in the divx player (software).....

Does your Divx player have a digital connection to a Dolby Digital decoding amplifier ? It sounds like it is trying to play back the AC3 digital sugnal through the analogue outputs. If you have a digital connection (optical or coax) then the AC3 should go through this to the amp and be decoded there. Otherwise it should be downmixed to stereo for the analogue outputs.

Perhaps there is a setting in the player that needs to be changed to make sure this happens.

you have 2 options

set the AC3 speaker output to 2/0 stereo in the AC3 settings or get the latest DivX Player Radium on www.divxlabs.com
