I have been unable to back up War of the Worlds Ihave used both the 11/19 an 11/22 upgrade of DVD Fab Decrypter. It shows as successful but the movie freezes about 15 minutes in and then skips about 45 minutesif you try to advance to next chapter. Tried using the 11/19 version 2.5 but DVD Shrink will not open it. Had no problem with Polar Express also by Dreamworks, but unsuccessful with War of Worlds. Would appreciate ANY HELP!

I updated to DVDFab Decrypter 2958 for Madagascar and it worked but a lot of others since then haven't when trying to use Shrink. Updated to 2960 and 2962 and still get some kind of data error message using Shrink (3.2). Went back to 2952 and back to normal. Left a couple of emails telling them about the Shrink problem, no reply.
I did try just Shrink (have AnyDVD running in background) and it did War of the Worlds just fine.
Don't know what's with DVDFab Decrypter . . . -

No problems playing the backup on any of my DVD Players either (including my Playstation 2).
I think your problem may be bad media, burn speed (too fast) or a fundamental error such as not playing the original DVD in a DVD player program (PowerDVD?).
Or, your DVD player could be the problem. Have you tried playing the backup in another DVD player?
You need to give us a lot more details if you want the problem to be solved quickly. -
To repeat, there is nothing at all unusual about War of the Worlds. It does not have any of the "newer" forms of copy portection. It should work with any of the "usual" tools. I backed my own copy up the day I bought it -- for the wife's mini-van -- using DVDDecrypter to rip, and then DVDShrink to shrink.
I also did a second version (backup for the home theater) using DVDShrink to rip (no compression), and then used VOBBlanker to split the thing out to two discs.
For those experiencing errors, suggest you look to the more "usual" suspects... probably a damaged disc, dirty disc, scratched disc, a lousy pressing from the factory, etc.
