Good to hear it hasn't happened, but I'd imagine the UN will probably try again. Now that macrovision has DVDD I wonder who their next target will be?

Kofi Annan has been bashed almost since the moment he hit the international scene.

And good luck finding them, in many cases. Domains are bought, sold, traded all the time. When you use the Arnic WHOIS, you might be surprised how many times the last available listing ends in a P.O. Box in Patagonia, or somewhere like that. If you even get that far.

And deservedly so considering the number of scandals surrounding him. But that drags us into the political arena, which the mods would prefer we avoid so I'll just leave it at that.

And with that I am also giving up on ROF. He can continue to hawk whatever party line the RIAA/MPAA want him to, I'm not interested in refuting it any further.

As BJ_M said, he is entitled to his opinion and I have better things to do with my time.

I don't follow. It doesn't matter who owns it or who it gets sold to, no matter what happens its still the same domain name and all you've got to do is show ICANN proof of copyright infringement on that domain and the domain can be seized. The real problem is that rarely does the copyright holder actually want the domain name, ala a trademark infringement seizure, they just want to get the site shut down...and all that foreign individual has to do is buy up a new domain name and rinse, wash, repeat. So like I said, the individual may be safe depending on their country but the domain name never is...but the fact that its so easily replaceable and ultimately worthless means that alot of warez/torrent sites are just ignored.

I've seized domains through ICANN before. If the owner fails to answer then taking the site is literally as easy as mailing in some paperwork, containing your proof of course.
