  1. Hello all,
i am trying to create a menu in DVDlab. Normally as people will know who use it, the selection button will be highlighted by way of a colour(default purpley for some wierd reason!!). I was wondering if I could instead make the selector a bullet point beside the action button.

Or better still is it possible to rip a menu of a DVD and edit to suit your needs/extract certain features, music etc?

    Cheers Jim

You can pull apart menus, however how usable the items might be depends a lot on how the menu was built, and how you rip it open again.

To do what you want is pretty straight forward. Simply create you menu and add all your text. Next to each text item add your symbol - I find Dingbats (wing-dings etc) can provide a lot of options here - dafont.com has some great specialised dingbat font sets). Link these to your items. These will now function like any menu item, and highlight as you move with the remote. Now, select the first 'buttlet'. Go to the Mapping Tab on the right-hand side (working from memory here, don't have DLP in front of me) and set the visibility state to Invisble Normal. Do this for each 'bullet'. You should now only see the bullets when they are highlighted or selected.

I do this all the time either for you are trying to do, or to create easter eggs.
