Ok, here's the scoop!
I have these two SVCDs. One I D/L'ed several months ago
or so, and the other, is one I created myself from a DVD
RIP and Capture (compare all three)
My problem is this:
The color quality (as well as sharpness) in the one I D/L'd
is excellent, but the two I DVD Ripped and Captured are
so bad (not the quality of xSVCD is bad,...it is very good)
but that the COLOR does NOT match the one I D/L'ed a few
months ago.
I did the exact same scene as the one I D/L'ed, but the
color really does not compare what-so-ever!
The movie I am refereing to is Dogma.
...which by the way is very funny!![]()
Below is some specs and some detailed history of my process.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The person that shared this clip has these specs:
* SVCD
* 480x576
* 4:3 generic
* 25 fps
My process:
* I re-encoded the D/L'ed clip to see if any difference in
quality. YES, there was a difference. It looked kind of
on the rusty side (color)
* So, I did another test, I turned the SVCD into an AVI
clip and THEN re-encoded it to an:
1) - SVCD - 480x480
2) - xSVCD - 352x480
When I burned these two clips alone with the D/L'ed clip,
the quality was IDENTICLE!! You can see why I like to use
352x480 (and save a great deal of time)
Anyways, I need to know how to get the same color quality
as the D/L'ed clip! I'm wondering if there is a setting
to use in TMPG that will shift the colors, ie, in the scene
for the D/L'ed clip, the blues looks blues, BUT, in the
scene from my DVD rip and Capture (of same scene) the blues
looks more like rusty green or grays.
Ok, it kind of reminds me of my PVR usb, when you watch the
tv on your monitor, you notice how the color is way off...
if that help any.
Please, I'd like to figure out how to fix this color issue
if someone knows what I'm talking about here.
If you need more detail, ie, a sample of what I'm talking
about, I'll be more than happy to share a small file, say,
1mb or so. . .
Thank you for taking the time to read my LONG post here!!
And enjoy the rest of the day!
