    Hi people, I just want to go back to basics. WHat is the best way and easiest to convert AVI to Mpg?

    I want to use TMC for making my menus and stuff, it seems to work best with Mpg files.

    Hi Ttex,

    Look in the panel to the left under "How To... Convert" and also "Video Encoders (MPG/DVD)" in the "Tools" section for a selection of guides and tools to do what you want.

    There's no one single way, nor no single tool - have a read and pick what suits you.

    Personally I like TMPGEnc - http://members.dodo.net.au/~jimmalenko/AVI2DVD.htm .

    Here's another option. This guide has always worked for me when converting,

    For audio, I use ffmpegGUI instead of the suggested Sonic Scenarist mentioned in the guide.
