  1. Hello,

My main computer is now a laptop, with wireless internet. Would it be possible to take the wireless internet I am getting and share that over the ethernet port of my computer? I would like to hook my x-box up to the network, but the router is too far away, and I don't want to buy the xbox it's own wireless card. Is it possible to share my w-fi connectioin via my ethernet on my laptop?

    (win XP, SP2)

    Thanks

Should be able to do this.

You'll need a crossover cable between your laptop and your XBOX to start with. Then your XBOX will need to be in the same IP range, specifying the IP of the laptop as the gateway. Then there'll be something you need to do on the laptop to enable ICS (internet connection sharing).
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. I think you'll need to set up a "network bridge" on your laptop between the wireless LAN and the wired LAN... WinXP help files/wizard should be able to help you.

  4. thanks for the information. The bridge worked...but I got an error because of incompatable IP addresses. How do I find out what my Xbox IP is, and how do I change my laptop Ip to match it?

    Thanks

Have you got hacked firmware or a chip, or are you stock-standard ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
