You obviously can't read to well then. While not everything on your is necessarily the best, you have enough to do what you are trying to do. In the interests of keeping things simple, I am going to suggest two more pieces of software

DivxtoDVD (freeware version is fine). Use this to convert your AVI files to DVD compliant files. You can do this one file at a time, or load all 4 together using the shift key.

TDA 30 day free trial. Use the Add Video function to load the movies you have just converted into TDA to add menus. Compile and burn.

If you can't get it working after that, I think you had better find another hobby.

If you want real help with what you are doing wrong, I suggest you do more than list software. Tell us about the process, which guides did you follow, what happened along the way, what results are you getting etc.
    Read my blog here.

  3. Hi

I saw your post and had to reply...
I've had your problems and was never happy trying to convert files....untill I came across Vso Software's DivXToDVD it will convert any video file to dvd
simply add your files and hit convert.
If you add 1 or more files it makes a dvd menu based on the filename of your videos you want to convert.

check out this site on how to use it. http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/98/59/

    here's the Vso site
    http://www.vso-software.fr/products.php

    Hope this helps!

I'm sorry for the multiple replies, i'm just desperate to get this thing worked out.

Will it work if the source is NTSC and I change it to PAL

Also what if i go over to the 2 hour in duration, will it reduce file size to fit on one disc, is there an opton?

Have a look at Cucusoft Converter Pro

It will easily convert DivX/XVid and virtually any other video format to DVD ready files or burn it for you if you wish

It can join video files into one file, batch process video, it can handle NTSC and PAL, add subtitles if you wish,

It wil convert to DVD, VCD, SVCD, xDVD, you can decide on the final quality, you can set custom video format if you wish, so you could if you wanted resize the output video

I've tried quite a few converters and this one seem sto be the most stable at converting and is pretty good at keeping the audio in sync when convert from divx/xvid to DVD

And they actually reply to emails when you find problems or have a suggestion they might be interested

  8. In vso
you can set it up to burn the files right to DVD once the conversion is complete.
Or once the files are done, find the directory vso put them in.
Open nero and select DVD video
Copy all the VSO files to the Video folder and select Burn in Nero.

    That easy.

DivxtoDVD is quick but always gives me color distortions and/or sync problems.
So I prefer the hard way: VirtualDubMod (save wav, add subs), TMPGEnc and Tsunami Author Pro. Sometimes TMPGEnc accepts the Avi right away sparing the subs step.

Yes, but then your problems may start. In fact, as somebody mentioned normally you don't need to convert NTSC to Pal. Your player will play NTSC just fine.
