What are the differences between those 3 and does it matter which kind of cable I get as long as it's the component cable with the green/red/blue? I was wondering because I got a cheap component cable by GE the other day for by bedroom tv, and I hooked it up but didn't work. All it displayed was a film in which the only color was blue. Nothing else, blue people, blue cars, everything. I am SURE i hooked everything up right, I'm not THAT stupid.(this was for a dvd player+20" tv btw.)

A componet output must be connected to a TV with component inputs.
A TV set with component inputs may be limited to 480i interlace only or it may also support 480p progressive (aka a EDTV) or also include 720p or 1080i (an HDTV).
If your TV has componet inputs, both the DVD player and the TV need to be set in the menus to use component in the correct interlace or progressive modes..Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
