  1. I've had a cheapo Cyberhome dvd400 for a while now, and recently
been trying dual layer media and this particular player just wont
play the second layer properly. Im pretty certain the media is fine
and the burn too (burned with dvdrom booktype). The discs play in a
Proline player (which is a lousy player anyway) so really i just
need a new dvd player. Any player recommendations from people who
are using dual layer media ?
Im in the uk and i was looking at the philips dvp5100 but there is
no mention as to whether this will play them. I have checked the compatibility listing but its not all that conclusive !

    regards

Your best bet would be to head on out to the store with your disc in hand and try them out personally.
