  1. I have some video that has big waves in it, like if you were looking at a fun house mirror, and some other video that does a small, quick, and jumpy wave every few seconds. What causes this? Can either problem be fixed at all? The tapes are copies of the original tapes that had the wavy problem.

  2. I tried using Deshaker on the video with the quick jumpy waves and it did reduce the problem, but the video and audio keep randomly pausing. It's kind of like it's being played in slow motion in parts. I used the settings for Deshaker from this tutorial http://www.sundancemediagroup.com/articles/deshaker_guide.htm.

Anyone know why this is happening?

A TBC may fix something like that, someone else may be able to give you a better idea especially if you post an example clip or screenshot.

My guess is that your going to be out of luck though if they are second generation because the error is no longer a error but part of the content.

  4. Here's an example of the video I'm trying to fix. This is without trying to use Deshaker.

I think Deshaker might help. I had the same problem with it when I tried it, getting pauses. I figured out I probably had the wrong settings and gave up. You may have to isolate the shaking frames as much as possible and play with the settings a bit more. It doesn't look like there is a blur during the shake, so it should be fixable, with enough time invested.
