virtualdub question/help

with virtualdub i can cut out a scene from a avi movie, is there a way to do this with mpg aswell?
with avi i select start and end frame and save as avi but when i load a mpg movie and try this it converts the whole video and not the part i selected.. i dont mind it converting to avi its just that i need to cut out certain parts of both avi and mpg movies... please anyone? thanks

Try Cuttermaran its for editing MPG files and wont Re-Encode the File,Or (I Should say the Whole File). I couldnt live with out this Software.

You Could also try VideoRedo,It's not Free But is Very Good at what it does.
