is there a way to correct tv overscan without encoding? or add borders arround the video without encoding? thanks for your help.![]()

Not that I'm aware, but I'm interested if this is at all possible from a programming point of view? Or is the bottom-line: reencode?

The only general solution is to reencode with borders.
You might be able to find a DVD player that has a zoom out function (mine does but only for MPEG4 files). You could buy a studio/medical monitor that doesn't overscan -- but they're very expensive.
