I was surfing Ebay, and came across dozens of movies, and series for cheap prices. They are downloaded (of course).
I asked one seller about an item and he said they were on Data DVDs that could only be played on a computer. I asked him what format the episodes were in so I could figure out a DVD player that would work (if there is one).
He said they were in .rm .avi and .mpg formats. I'm totally new to all of this, but I used the search feature on the site and didn't see a filter for rm avi or mpg. Will these 'Data DVDs' even work on a player? If so, what player supports all 3 formats? More support the better, I guess, for future-proofing. Thanks in advance for any help.

Don't know that you're going to get much help here, given the nature of your question. No one here wants to see ebay pirates profit, nor do they want to help you help them.
