Hi All, I've been quite confused the last couple of times I've used ffmpegx. I'm converting some .avi files to dvd and the process doesn't stop. I've used this progam for all sorts of conversions, but lately they fail to finish and keep compiling. I set the profile as either a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect using mpg2enc and set the rest as I had in the past. I use a g3 700mhz, so a movie takes @30 hrs. to convert to a dvd ts_ format.....

I guess the reason I'm posting is there anyone having a prob. finishing a conversion.----Thanx, glynn

I don't use ffmpegx, but the same kind of thing can happen with TMPGEnc if the audio is MP3 VBR or sometimes AC3 audio. You can check it with Gspot. If so, mux out the audio in VirtualDub or similar and save as a WAV file and use that to convert with, along with the original video.

Thanx for the responce. I ran another and just let it finish. But instead of getting a TS-Video and TS-audio files I got a .m2v,.ac3 and a .wav. So instead of being able to directly make a disk image and burn I had to mux the .wav w/the .m2v. (it would not take the .ac3--something about streaming). I've never had this happen before. Usally I get a finished product ready to burn.

I sometimes also get ffmpegX going past 100%. I usually just leave it and it eventually finishes. It's a (mostly) cosmetic minor bug.
