I have been trying to burn some dvds with several title sets and a menu to play on our vehicles DVD entertainment system. The DVDs burn fine and work fine on our home dvd player. But on our vehicles dvd player, the menu appears, but there is no highlighted item and I cannot scroll through the menu to select the individual titles. If I press play, the first title plays fine and then returns to the menu - still with no highlight.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

I should have mentioned - I did read these threads and have tried changing the colors of the buttons - but still it doesn't work.

Another detail to add - on our home dvd player, when the menu appears after inserting the dvd, the first menu item is highlighted and blinking. Not sure if this should be blinking or just solid highlighted.

ok have you got the "loop" option checked? If so can you try unchecking?

I unchecked the Loop option. This solved the blinking highlight problem on our home dvd player, but the same problem still exists on our vehicles dvd player - no highlighted button.

Out of curiosity, I loaded SVCD2DVD v1.5 and built the same dvd with menu. The menus DID work just fine in both our home dvd player and our vehicle dvd player.

I guess until I can figure out why the menu in v2 won't work in the dvd player in our vehicle, I will just use v1.5

Can you try creating an audio menu and selecting EncodeVideo2AudioDuration in the settings (and loose the lopp setting too)? Just to see if we can get any highlight. I notice it is a NTSC menu so maybe try AC3 as the custom audio type too.

OK - that worked. Now there is a highlighted button and I can scroll through each item on the menu.

Excellent... ( i had visions of your testing process: process, burn, go to garage, start car, watch dvd... back to the beginning!)

That was exactly right! And it is darn cold here these days too, so that trip to the garage was somewhat painful!

    Thanks again!
