  1. -can someone please tell me excatly what i need to buy to get the video from my sony handycam (analog, not DV)into my computer, so i can edit it. also is it possible to edit analog video with adobe premiere 6 or not? i have got so many different answers and dont know which advise to follow. thanks.

  2. You will need to buy:

    A video capture card (like a WinTV card or ATI card) unless your current video card already has a video capture line-in plug on it. If your current video card has video capture ability, then you don't need to buy anything.

    As for editing video with Adobe Premiere...I don't know because I edit with VirtualDub (it's free) and TMPGenc (it's free also). But I beleive Adobe Premiere should be able to.

    I can tell you from experience that the Hauppauge WinTV cards and the ATI cards seem to be quite popular and low cost and reliable.
