I have reposted this with a new header thinking that the old header may have been confusing.

I am attempting to burn a Video TS folder that I ripped with MTR. The folder is approx 7 - 8 gig in size. Once I start the process it appears to compress fine then begins burning. Everytime in the last few minutes the Toast software locks up. Any thoughts on how to stop this. I selected buffer underrun prevention in the setup but it did not help. I have about 10 gig of HDD left. Could this be the problem? Any help will be appreciated.

  2. Yes only have that amount of space left on the HD could be the problem. Try to clear out at least 15gb so you have about twice the size of the file.

I cleared off 30 gig of HDD space and attempted again. It still hangs up. Once it is locked up it will allow me to click the abort button and then states that it is aborting but never aborts. Only a force quit stops it.

  5. What burner are you using? I have had problems with my Pioneer 109 with Toast 7. Sometimes it locks-up during burning DVD's. I have tried different media (Fiji, Sony, Taiyo Yuden, & Ritek) with the same results. Sometimes they work and other times it locks up. So I have been using my NEC 3520 for burning and the Pioneer for ripping. The NEC & Toast 7 have not had any problems.

I had horrible problems with toast 7 until the 7.0.1 update. Now I'm problem free.
